Dionisyan: Land of dreams
21/12/12 || sincan
Prepare yourself for some Italian doom metal! The EP starts with a pretty uninspired intro consisting of an acoustic guitar tune. It’s probably played by someone who is warming up only by routine. Then the second track starts with an odd 90’s synth techno-intro which later is exchanged by the more metal-ish instruments.
The atmosphere is of the typical fake joy type one can find in the DSBM
music, but instead of the elephant doing the vocals we have a death
grunting guy. He is trying a little bit to hard sometimes in my opinion.
The track is not totally rubbish, I find it rather good sometimes, but
the problem is that not much is happening and the third track have the
same trouble. It also blends into the previous one very easy.
In the end the listener gets an outro in the same style as the intro and
I don’t seriously understand why these are placed on this EP, they
don’t fit at all.
For me this feels kind of uninspired and done better by others, but if you can’t get enough of this type of music I’m not stopping you from listening to “Land of penises”.
4/10: Not yet a Ferrari.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
